Some of us have different ways to learn at our best. There are several people who learn better by recording, discussing, or storytelling, there are also some people who learn at their best when the drawings or pictures included, making mind maps, colourful notes or even diagrams, and the rest of us learn by act things out, using movements when learning something. These differences are categorized into auditory learners, visual learners, and kinesthetic learners (Sumner, 2014). This post will explain a bit about these types of learners, especially using visualization for more comprehension to a text. To make us easier locate again the main ideas or any important supporting details in a text, we often underline or put any marking so it'll be visible more later. Some of us even do an effort to take notes for it. This post will elaborate the parts of textbook and its content, also why it's important in its own way to mark things. In order to optimize your learning, you need to use a reading method that will help you read, learn, and remember effectively. You have learned that repetition is a key to learning. If you use a study system that builds in repetition using the least amount of time and the most efficient method, you can make the best use of your study time. Text structures, or patterns of organization, not only vary from writing to writing, but text structures may also change frequently from paragraph to paragraph within a single piece of writing (E Reading Worksheets). A pattern of organization is the way that an author purposefully chooses to present his or her ideas through the use of specific pattern types. At times, an author will use more than one pattern of organization within a reading. The use of multiple patterns is known as mixed patterns of organization. It's important to note that the link between clear, logical organization and effective communication is powerful, both for the "sender" and the "receiver." For the writer, a well organized outline of information serves as a blue print for action. It provides focus and direction as the writer composes the document, which helps to ensure that the stated purpose is fulfilled. For the reader, clear organization greatly enhances the ease with which one can understand and remember the information being presented. People seek out patterns to help make sense of information. Thus, one of the most important decisions a writer makes concerns the pattern of organization that is used to structure and order information (Washington Edu). In a text, even just a paragraph, it's essential for the readers to pinpoint main ideas and to find supportive details about its topic. As in K12 Reader stated, "the main idea, also called the central idea or main point, is the primary concept of a passage. It represents the essential point that the author is trying to convey". It's more likely you must locate the main idea correctly in order to get a good comprehension about the text you read. It's not only that, Oberg in Sophia also mentioned that finding supporting details is important too, so you can make sense of the main idea. Developing a strong vocabulary has many benefits. Increasing your vocabulary increases your ability to think critically about new information. Knowing more words means you not only increase your reading comprehension, you also develop your listening comprehension.
